Six people were charged with manslaughter Nia

Last night I was watching the TV one news at 6 pm, the news was on about Nia’s mother was charged with manslaughter Nia’s treatment on July 20, 2007. It seems that the news was long time ago but seriously still under the judges’s process. I would like to refer back about what had happened to Nia was that she was abused by her stepfathers and his kids. She was hung from a clothesline, spun in a tumble dryer and left screaming on the roof of her Frank St, Rotorua, rental home. She was admitted to Starship Hospital on July 22 and died on August 3. Her death sparked a national outcry over Child Abuse. At the time her mother had done nothing about it, none of the treatment had been offer to Nia or taken her to the doctor before then. Nia was dead because of Brain Bleed.
There were 5 people charged with manslaughter over Nia's death. Michael William Curtis, 21, Wiremu Curtis, 17, Michael Paul Pearson, 19, Oriwa Terrina Kemp, 17, and William Curtis, 47
William Curtis, 47, is charged with assault and injuring with intent to injure Nia between March and July this year. He wrapped a scarf twice around her neck, then lifted her off the ground and strangled her with it until she turned purple.
I agree with the police that charged with the mom( Lisa Kuka) as well as other people as I have already explained about neglecting in my previous blog. Lisa neglecting to give medical treatment to Nia, if you are a parent you don’t ignore your kids’ unwell being. As a mom how could you let this happen to your own child.
